SPARTANBURG, S.C. (AP) - A Spartanburg County woman has been sentenced to probation after pleading guilty to taking money from her elderly father.

The Spartanburg Herald-Journal (https://bit.ly/2ukQXQC) reports that 53-year-old Tammie Miller Price was sentenced to five years of probation and ordered to pay restitution on Wednesday. She had pleaded guilty in 2014 to breach of trust $1,000 or less.

Prosecutor had accused her of stealing thousands of dollars over a four-year period from her father who died earlier this year at age 90.

Family members have said in court that the man who retired from the Spartanburg County Sheriff’s Department suffered from dementia.
