ENGLEWOOD CLIFFS, N.J. (AP) - A New Jersey mother of two who says she was carjacked by a man she tried to help has filed a lawsuit against the suspect for causing her extreme distress.

Forty-three-year-old Aida Lekic, of Englewood Cliffs, says she was driving her teenage children when she spotted a man lying in the road. NJ.com reports (https://bit.ly/2tNJdTJ ) she got out of the car to help the man, who then jumped up and dashed toward her car.

According to the suit, Lekic says she managed to get her children out of the car before the carjacker sped off.



The suspect was arrested and charged with carjacking after leading police on a chase.
