LEXINGTON, N.C. (AP) - A North Carolina man has drowned in lake where a 19-year-old drowned almost one week ago.
The Davidson County Sheriff’s Office told local media outlets that a 69-year-old man was swimming at the end of a pier on High Rock Lake on Tuesday. The man was with a friend in a kayak. The friend saw the man go under and he didn’t immediately resurface.
Rescue crews found the man’s body after a 45-minute search.
Sheriff David Grice said the water was around 8 to 10 feet deep where the man’s body was found. Grice said the man hasn’t been identified yet and family members haven’t been notified.
On July 12, a 19-year-old man drowned on the Rowan County side of the lake.
