NEW CASTLE, Del. (AP) - A man who fire officials say injured his back while atop an 80-foot-high platform at a Delaware chemical plant has been rescued.
The News Journal of Wilmington reports the man was rescued from the Croda Atlas Point site after a 45-minute effort by several fire companies on Wednesday morning.
Wilmington Fire Deputy Chief James Jobes says firefighters responded to a report that a man could not get down from a platform at the site.
Holloway Terrace Fire Chief Mark Willis says first responders placed the man in a rescue basket and a crane returned him to the ground.
The man sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to the hospital for treatment.
