DUDLEYVILLE, Ariz. (AP) - Residents who evacuated a small rural community in southern Arizona over the weekend because of a wildfire have been allowed to return home.
Pinal County authorities say Dudleyville residents were allowed to return Sunday evening after firefighters stopped the fire’s growth.
Dudleyville is located about 100 miles (160 kilometers) southeast of Phoenix.
The fire burned half of a square mile (1.4-square-kilometers) of salt cedar primarily along the San Pedro River and was 60 percent contained as of late Sunday.
The fire started Friday night and destroyed 10 buildings, including three homes.
Officials said fire crews will continue to monitor the fire and put out hot spots.
Utilities were working to restore electrical and natural gas services.
