EDINBURGH, N.Y. (AP) - Police say a 37-year-old man has died after he crashed his snowmobile on a frozen lake in upstate New York.

Police tell The Post-Star of Glens Falls (https://bit.ly/2i7Xs3b) Jonathan J. Cooper was killed Saturday night Edinburgh when he struck a rock sticking out of the ice on Great Sacandaga Lake.

Police say the Edinburgh man and was thrown from the snowmobile. State police in Mayfield and town fire officials attempted to save him but were unsuccessful.



Last Sunday, a 35-year-old man was killed when his snowmobile struck a rock on Cossayuna Lake in Washington County.
