LINDEN, N.J. (AP) - Authorities say a man and his young son were rescued from their car after a crash downed a utility pole and left live wires resting on the vehicle.
The single-vehicle accident occurred around 9 a.m. Tuesday at East St. George’s and Chandler Avenue in Linden.
Authorities say emergency responders told the 46-year-old driver and his 6-year-old son to stay in the car until utility workers could cut power to the lines. Both eventually were safely removed from the vehicle and they refused medical treatment at the scene.
The names of the man and the boy have not been released.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
