GEORGIA, Vermont (AP) - A Vermont man has been accused of shooting two people in a truck stopped outside his home, leaving one of them dead and the other badly injured.
The shooting happened Monday in Georgia and is being investigated by state police. Initially authorities said the shooting was in Fairfax.
A preliminary investigation shows two Fairfax men were traveling in a truck with a lowboy flatbed trailer attached. The truck was stopped in a roadway near the entrance to a Georgia home’s driveway.
Investigators say a man who lives in the home had a confrontation with the two men in the truck and ended up shooting them in the roadway.
One shooting victim was found dead. The other has been hospitalized in Burlington with life-threatening injuries.
Authorities say the shooter was taken into custody at the scene.
