HOPEWELL TOWNSHIP, N.J. (AP) - Authorities are searching for a man who crashed a stolen car and then fled the scene on foot.
Hopewell Township police say the man refused to pull over when officers tried to stop the car around 11 a.m. Saturday. The vehicle had been reported stolen in Hamilton Township a few weeks ago.
The driver soon sped through two red lights and drove onto Route 29 but soon collided with a northbound vehicle. The driver continued on but soon exited the car with a passenger, and they both ran from the scene.
Police soon caught the passenger, 20-year-old Nathan McCray of Ewing. He was charged with receiving stolen property and other counts, and it wasn’t known Sunday if he’s retained an attorney.
The driver remained at large Sunday.
