AIRWAY HEIGHTS, Wash. (AP) - The Washington State Patrol says a 44-year-old Spokane bicyclist was struck and killed by a car near Airway Heights Sunday morning.

The collision happened around 4 a.m. on Highway 2 near Flint about a mile east of Airway Heights.

KHQ-TV reports that the patrol says 27-year-old Melissa Paul of Mead was driving westbound on the shoulder of Highway 2 when she hit and killed Ty Matthew Olds, who biking in the same direction.



The state patrol says the cause of the crash was DUI.
