RENO, Nev. (AP) - During a standoff with police a Reno man accused of domestic violence acted erratically, at one point tossing lit candles at officers.

The Reno Gazette-Journal reports (https://on.rgj.com/2kCDJaC ) that the 29-year-old man was booked on multiple charges early Sunday morning, including domestic battery, assault with a deadly weapon, robbery and battery on a protected person.

Washoe County sheriff’s officials were called early Sunday for a family disturbance. When deputies arrived on scene, they were able to escort family members out of the house but the suspect would not cooperate.

The suspect proceeded to threaten police, tossing the candles at one point in the five-hour standoff.

The suspect was arrested after a Special Weapons and Tactics team shot tear gas canisters into the house.
