FERRISBURGH, Vt. (AP) - Police in Vermont have arrested a man who they say shot a dog.

WCAX-TV reports (https://bit.ly/2upRM7n ) Vermont State Police responded to an emergency call about a wounded dog in Ferrisburgh around noon Thursday. Police arrested a 57-year-old Ferrisburgh man and charged him with aggravated animal cruelty.

Authorities say the dog survived and is being treated for its injuries.
