COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (AP) - Authorities say a man died after he was hit by a train near downtown Colorado Springs.

The Gazette reports https://goo.gl/S3BiVu the 30-year-old man, whose name has not been released, was lying on the tracks when he was struck Tuesday afternoon. He died at a hospital.

Investigators have not said why the man was on the tracks, and there is no legal crossing near where he was hit.



No other information was released.
