JOHNSBURG, N.Y. (AP) - The brothers who died in a murder-suicide in their Adirondack home were New York City natives who moved upstate years ago.
The Warren County Sheriff’s Office tells The Post-Star of Glens Falls (https://bit.ly/2vLKBeM ) that 76-year-old George Puglisi (ph-GLEE’-see) used one of his handguns to kill his 70-year-old brother Dennis Wednesday afternoon in the elder brother’s home in Johnsburg.
Police say George Puglisi then turned the gun on himself after telling a 911 dispatcher he had just killed his brother.
Authorities say the older man apparently worried about health issues and left a note saying he couldn’t leave his brother to be cared for by anybody else. Officials say the brothers had also been arguing.
An acquaintance says George Puglisi drove cabs in Brooklyn before moving to the mountains in 2002 because he feared a nuclear war.
