WAMSUTTER, Wyo. (AP) - A search is on in southern Wyoming for a man suffering from Alzheimer’s disease.

Sweetwater County Sheriff Mike Lowell says 82-year-old Robert Winters and his wife are from Port Angeles, Washington. They were driving home when they stopped in the remote, high-desert town of Wamsutter along Interstate 80.

Lowell said Tuesday the man drove off by himself and has not been heard from since. Winters was driving a gray 2004 Chevrolet Avalanche.

Sheriff’s officials say Winters suffers from short-term memory loss.

He is described as a white male about 6 feet tall and weighing 175 pounds. He was last seen wearing a blue T-shirt and bluejeans.
