BURLINGTON, Vt. (AP) - Police are investigating the report of an attempted abduction of a woman in Burlington.

The 28-year-old Burlington resident reported that she was walking on North Street after leaving friends just after 2:30 Sunday morning when a man assaulted her from behind and tried to pull her into his car. The woman says she fought him off and yelled to get the attention of a nearby group before the man fled in his car.

The man is described as being in his late 40s to early 50s with a medium build and grey hair. He was driving a light-colored older-model compact car.



Anyone with information about the suspect or vehicle or anyone who witnessed the assault is asked to contact Burlington police.
