URBANNA, Va. (AP) - Investigators have been unable to determine what caused a massive February fire that killed two people and destroyed or damaged more than 20 boats at a Middlesex County marina.
Virginia State Police First Sgt. Keenon Hook tells the Daily Press (https://bit.ly/2dxSQRZ) that investigators closed the case after determining that the damage was so extensive that they couldn’t find its exact cause or origin.
Ned Dozier with Dozier Marine Group says the owners have decided to sell the property rather than rebuild the marina located in the waterside village of Urbanna.
The property had been for sale prior to the Feb. 29 fire but was taken off the market during the investigation and cleanup.
Troopers said 75-year-old Francis Blantz and his wife, 65-year-old Julia J. Blantz, died in the fire.
