FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. (AP) - Authorities say a person is dead after being struck by a South Florida commuter train.

Local news outlets report that the Tri-Rail train hit someone just south of the Fort Lauderdale station Monday morning.

The trains were shut down for about two hours, and a Tri-Rail spokeswoman says they had to bus passengers between the Fort Lauderdale and Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport stations.



Police weren’t immediately naming the dead pedestrian.

No other injuries were reported.
