DUNBAR, W.Va. (AP) - A father and his 5-year-old son have been injured after officials say a gas can exploded at a campfire in Dunbar.

Firefighters tell news outlets that Heath Graley and his son Kyler were trying to start a campfire late Saturday night when the explosion happened.

WSAZ-TV says (https://bit.ly/2eesVy4) neighbors reported a loud boom that sounded like a bomb followed by screams and fire.

Debris from the explosion could be seen the following afternoon scattered around the yard.

Official say both Graley and his son suffered burns and were taken to a burn hospital in Pittsburgh, where they’re being treated for their injuries.

Firefighters and family members say they expect both of them to have multiple surgeries.
