BROOKHAVEN, N.Y. (AP) - Police on Long Island say a mother and her daughter have been killed in a motor vehicle crash.

Suffolk County police say the accident happened around 5 p.m. Saturday in Selden when a vehicle making a left turn collided with another car.

Seventy-three-year-old Marie Sanacore, of Coram, was pronounced dead at the scene. Her mother, 96-year-old Nellie Furino, also of Coram, was taken to a hospital, where she died a short time later.



The other driver, 22-year-old Shuofang Yang, of South Setauket, and a passenger were taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

An investigation is continuing.
