WEST VALLEY CITY, Utah (AP) - Crews have extinguished a fire at a West Valley City junkyard that sent plumes of black smoke over the Salt Lake Valley.

KSL-TV reports (https://bit.ly/2dkSH5u ) that the fire broke out Monday afternoon and charred several vehicles.

Though crews were concerned the winds could spread the flames to nearby yards the blaze was quickly contained.



The cause of the fire is under investigation. The junkyard appeared to be deserted at the time of the fire.
