REVERE, Mass. (AP) - No charges have been filed after an hours-long standoff at a Revere apartment building.

Police said they responded to an unconfirmed report of gunfire early Sunday morning and called in a SWAT team after several residents refused to come out.

The Boston Globe reported (https://bit.ly/2dhYIQD ) that four men came out when police arrived, another exited the building after negotiations and a sixth man was forced out by tear gas.

The men, all naturalized citizens from Morocco, were detained for questioning but later released.

Two of the men later told the newspaper they did not immediately leave the home because they had trouble understanding the orders being given by police and were afraid.

No shots were fired during the standoff.

Residents complained that police acted in an overly aggressive manner.
