LANSING, Mich. (AP) - Authorities say six people were taken the hospital with injuries following a crash involving an ambulance and several other vehicles in Lansing.

The Lansing State Journal reports the ambulance was heading to hospital with a patient inside when it collided Monday night with a car. The ambulance and the car had significant damage, while five other vehicles had what was described as minor damage.

Two medics in the Lansing Fire Department ambulance were among the injured along with a patient and family member in the ambulance.



Police say most of the injuries were minor and they aren’t believed to be life-threatening.

According to police, three other people had minor injuries that didn’t require hospitalization. Police say the ambulance had its lights and siren on at the time of the crash.
