92-year-old woman killed crossing a street in south Phoenix

PHOENIX (AP) - Authorities say a 92-year-old woman is dead after being struck by a vehicle while crossing a south Phoenix street.

Phoenix police say Esther Huckaby was crossing East Broadway Road about 6:30 a.m. Tuesday when she was hit.

They say she was taken to a hospital, where she was pronounced dead.

Police say the driver of the vehicle remained at the scene and impairment doesn’t appear to be a factor.

They say the incident remains under investigation.
