LEWISTON, Maine (AP) - Police in Maine say a Lewiston Middle School student was struck and killed by a vehicle on Main Street.

Lewiston Police say Jayden Cho-Sargent, a 13-year-old eighth-grader, was crossing Main Street at Frye Street in a crosswalk around 7:15 a.m. when he was hit by a pickup truck driven by Laurie Young, of South Paris.

The Sun Journal (https://bit.ly/2f4Feff ) reports the crash occurred about a half mile from the school on Thursday morning.



Police closed down Main Street from Riverside Street to Frye Street. The crash happened near Frye Street.
