TACOMA, Wash. (AP) - The Washington State Patrol says a motorcyclist has died after traveling at speeds of up to 100 mph and crashing on a Tacoma bridge.

The News Tribune reports (https://bit.ly/2fHeKSk ) that the victim of the Thursday night crash has not yet been identified. But authorities say he was from out of town.

Patrol spokesman Todd Bartolac says the man had been traveling with a group of motorcyclists before speeding off ahead of the group. He collided with a car on the Tacoma Narrows Bridge and was then struck by a second vehicle.



The crash closed down several lanes of westbound state Route 16 for more than three hours.
