HICKMAN, Ky. (AP) - Transportation officials say a ferry service connecting Kentucky and Missouri has changed its hours of operations for the winter.

The officials say the new hours took effect Wednesday. As a result, the last run of the day by the Dorena-Hickman Ferry from the Kentucky landing will be at 4:15 p.m. CST. The last run of the day from the Missouri landing will be at 4:30 p.m. CST.

Officials say the change in hours of operation will continue through Jan. 31.

The ferry connects Kentucky 1354 at Hickman with Missouri Route A and Route 77 near Dorena, Missouri.

The ferry, operating on the Mississippi River, is a key transportation link between Kentucky and Missouri for daily commuters and farmers, and it serves as a tourist attraction for the region.
