WARWICK, R.I. (AP) - A group of pit bulls will spend New Year’s Day plunging into frigid Rhode Island waters.
The Little Rhodie Bully Breed Club says this year marks its 6th annual pit bull plunge.
The dogs are scheduled to meet at 10 a.m. Sunday on the beach at Warwick City Park and jump into a cove off of Greenwich Bay.
The group says the event is meant to raise public awareness and funds to assist shelter dogs and promote adoptions.
The club says participating pit bulls should be dog-friendly, on a leash and up to date on vaccines.
