GLEN ALLEN, Va. (AP) - Fire officials say two people were killed in a house fire in Glen Allen.

The fire broke out early Saturday morning in a two-story house on Heritage Lane.

Capt. Taylor Goodman, a Henrico County fire department spokesman, says a man and a boy escaped by jumping from a second-floor window. They suffered non-life-threatening injuries.

The department has not released the names or ages of the two people who died. The cause and origin of the fire are under investigation.

Goodman says crews found heavy fire and smoke when they arrived at the scene.
