HOPKINS, S.C. (AP) - Richland County officials have released the name of a man found dead in a fire at a home in Hopkins.

Coroner Gary Watts says 84-year-old Cleveland Edmonds of Hopkins died in the fire overnight Wednesday. An autopsy showed that Edmonds died from smoke inhalation and burns.

Columbia Fire Chief Aubrey Jenkins says the body was found while crews were fighting the fire.

Part of the home collapsed because of the flames.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
