BATON ROUGE, La. (AP) - A mother and son have been reunited with the emergency officials that helped save the boy’s life.
WBRZ-TV reports (https://bit.ly/2h4P2G1) that in August, Jessica Michot needed help leaving her home to get medicine for her young son, Gabriel. Flooding had left the roads around her house inaccessible.
Michot says Gabriel has a tracheostomy to help him breathe, and that he also needed extra trach tubes, as seven had broken during the flooding.
Without a working cell phone, Michot posted on Facebook and was able to get in touch with the Governor’s Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Preparedness. A team was put together to get Gabriel help.
Emergency responders used a helicopter and a boat to get the medicine and trach tubes to Gabriel.
On Wednesday, the Michots reunited with the team to thank them.
