LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP) - A longtime leader at Little Rock City Hall has been named executive director of the Little Rock Port Authority.

The Port Authority Board voted unanimously Wednesday to hire Little Rock Assistant City Manager Bryan Day as the port’s new executive director. Day has worked for the city for 20 years, serving as assistant city manager since 2005 and previously serving as director of parks and recreation.

Day tells the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette (https://bit.ly/1mFNlfj ) that the port is a “valuable economic development catalyst” for the area. He says he’ll work hard to continue recruiting businesses and industries to locate at the port.

Day will replace Executive Director Paul Latture, who is retiring in June.
