CHARLESTON, S.C. (AP) - Clemson University is hosting an international conference on energy this week.

The First Conference on Local DC Electricity: Transforming the 21st Century Energy Economy is taking place at the Francis Marion Hotel in downtown Charleston.

Experts say experts from industry, federal labs and academia are talking about the latest developments in energy generation, distribution and utilization.



Jim Rogers, retired chairman and chief executive officer of Duke Energy, is scheduled to give a keynote address.

The meeting wraps up Tuesday.
