BEND, Ore. (AP) - It’s tough to find a place to rent in Bend, especially for low-income tenants.
The housing authority for Central Oregon found a 1 percent vacancy rate in its last annual survey of available units. The results of the new survey won’t be released for three weeks, but a housing authority official told The Bulletin newspaper (https://is.gd/iw565Q ) he believes the vacancy rate is now less than 1 percent.
One 104-unit apartment complex is leasing units in buildings as contractors complete them. That’s the one multifamily project under construction in Bend.
Three other projects are in various stages of preconstruction work.
