Sioux Falls records 2014’s first homicide

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (AP) - Sioux Falls has recorded its first homicide for 2014.

Police say the death of a woman who was found at her home Sunday evening has been ruled a homicide.

Authorities have identified the victim as 56-year-old Kari Ann Kirkegaard.

Investigators say Kirkegaard’s bedding is missing from her home. Officials are asking Sioux Falls residents to check their garbage containers for unusual items and to call police should they find anything suspicious.

Authorities also ask that anyone who had contact with Kirkegaard during the past week call police.
