BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (AP) - Authorities say a man upset over a romantic breakup shot his estranged girlfriend before killing himself.
WBRC-TV (https://bit.ly/1cQHKTo ) reports that Jefferson County sheriff’s officials believe 38-year-old Eddie Bradford turned a gun on himself after shooting 26-year-old Angelica Jones.
Investigators say Jones recently broke up with Bradford, but the man couldn’t accept that the relationship was over.
Chief Deputy Randy Christian says Bradford had threatened to kill Jones if they didn’t get back together.
Police received a call Sunday night and found the woman gravely injured at a home near Birmingham. She died later at a hospital.
Bradford was dead on the scene. His car was parked at a church near the house where his body was found.
