LAWTON, Okla. (AP) - The Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation is investigating after an officer-involved shooting in Lawton left one man dead.
KWTV reports (https://bit.ly/1lGfwdT) that police were responding to a vandalism call early Sunday morning at a home when officers heard a loud commotion and yelling coming from inside.
Lawton police say two officers knocked on the door, and someone from inside said they could come in. But the door was locked when officers tried to enter. Police say a man then stepped outside of the home and a third officer heard one of the two officers at the door yell “gun.”
Shots were fired, and the man was pronounced dead at the scene.
Two officers are on administrative leave.
Names of those involved have not been released.
