HARTFORD, Conn. (AP) - Authorities say two men were shot, one to death, in front of a crowd outside a mini-mart north of downtown Hartford.

Hartford police say 28-year-old Bryan Williston was shot in the head Saturday afternoon and taken to a hospital, where he later died. The second victim, a 26-year-old Hartford man, was shot repeatedly in the legs and arms and is in stable condition at St. Francis Hospital. Police have not named him.

Deputy Chief Brian J. Foley said Sunday that many people were apparently outside the mini-mart beforehand but fled once shots were fired, and police have little information about what happened but are investigating.

Williston’s death is the city’s second homicide of the year.
