DETROIT (AP) - The Wayne County medical examiner’s office has identified one of two pedestrians who were killed in Detroit when a car struck them before driving away.

The man and woman were crossing a west-side street about 10:30 p.m. Friday when the car hit them.

The medical examiner’s office tells the Detroit Free Press that the man was 56-year-old Wayne Sanders. The woman is believed to be in her 40s and remains unidentified.

Investigators say the hit-and-run may have been deliberate. They’ve been searching for the driver and say the car was light-colored and possibly a Pontiac Grand Am or Grand Prix.
