DENVER (AP) - Prosecutors have charged an 18-year-old man in connection with a hit-and-run crash that killed a pedestrian in southwest Denver.

Lynn Kimbrough, a spokeswoman for the Denver District Attorney’s Office, says Eliu Jimenez is charged with leaving the scene of a deadly accident, DUI and driving under restraint. His preliminary hearing is set for April 1.

Authorities say Reid Huffman was crossing Federal Boulevard near Dartmouth Street when he was struck by a car and thrown into the opposite lane of traffic at about 11 p.m. March 8. Another vehicle hit the man, and the driver left the scene.

Police arrested Jimenez a short time later a few blocks away.
