FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. (AP) - Authorities say a 30-year-old Flagstaff father of four was fatally hit by a car while trying to retrieve a rabbit cage that fell out of his truck bed.
The Arizona Daily Sun reports (https://bit.ly/1o7nVbU ) that the Arizona Highway Patrol says Clint “Tony” Orozco stepped out into the lane Thursday night on Interstate 40 near the Butler exit when he was hit by a Ford sedan.
Orozco was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Arizona Department of Public Safety says alcohol and speed do not appear to be factors.
Officials say the 21-year-old female driver will likely not be charged.
DPS says Orozco, who served in the Arizona National Guard, was a military equipment technician at Camp Navajo.
