Springfield woman dies after being hit by train

SPRINGFIELD, Ill. (AP) - A 19-year-old central Illinois woman died after being struck by a train in Springfield.

The (Springfield) State Journal-Register reports (https://bit.ly/1d1P8pv ) Jennifer Fry died Friday morning at Memorial Medical Center. She was hit while walking on the tracks on Thursday afternoon.

The Sangamon County coroner’s office says an autopsy is planned for later Friday.

Police are investigating.
