KINCAID, Ill. (AP) - The mayor of Kincaid in central Illinois has been arrested a second time for allegedly violating an order of protection.
The (Springfield) State Journal Register reports (https://bit.ly/OpWhdc ) that Douglas A. Thomas was arrested Thursday and kept in jail overnight.
He was expected to appear before a judge Friday.
Thomas was also arrested in February. The Journal Register reports he was accused at that time of violating an emergency order of protection by texting his ex-boyfriend. He was also charged with drug possession.
Christian County Sheriff Bruce Kettelkamp says Thursday’s arrest is related to the same protection order. An Illinois State Police statement says only that Thomas contacted a protected person on March 1.
It was not immediately clear if Thomas has an attorney. A phone listing for him was disconnected.
