VANCOUVER, Wash. (AP) - Police in Vancouver, Wash., have made an arrest after a hit-and-run crash seriously injured a 20-year-old Vancouver man.

The Columbian reports (https://is.gd/zpcNKe ) that a pedestrian identified as Cody Robinson was hit by a white Chevrolet SUV about 5:30 a.m. Thursday. Robinson was reported in serious condition at a local hospital.

The SUV drove off but officers found it in a nearby parking lot.



Police say investigators contacted the SUV’s registered owner, who reported the vehicle stolen shortly after the crash.

Police spokeswoman Kim Kapp says the vehicle owner, identified as 28-year-old James D. Schellhas of Yacolt, was arrested later Thursday for investigation of vehicular assault and hit and run.
