OCALA, Fla. (AP) - Authorities say they’ve found a woman and three children who went missing after going trail riding in the Ocala National Forest.
The Marion County Sheriff’s Office says 26-year-old Tabitha Renee Elliott took her children - ages 2 and 11 months - and a friend’s toddler into the forest on Tuesday afternoon.
Leah Weaver, the mother of one of the missing children, notified officials after they didn’t return. The missing group was located shortly after 1 p.m. Wednesday in the Juniper Springs Wilderness Area about three miles from State Road 19.
The Ocala Star-Banner (https://bit.ly/1iAZRPA ) reports deputies searched on foot and in vehicles.
Elliott turned 26 on March 6, the same day she was released from the Marion County Jail after serving 8 months on grand theft charges.
