PHILADELPHIA (AP) - Authorities say shootings around the city of Philadelphia killed one man and sent a number of other people to hospitals overnight.
Police said a triple shooting shortly after midnight in the West Oak Lane section of the city killed a 31-year-old man and injured two other men.
Just after that, a man was hit by gunfire in the Germantown section.
At about 3 a.m. Tuesday, gunfire at Marmeliz Bar and Restaurant in the Feltonville section injured two men, one of them critically.
Chief Inspector Scott Small told WCAU-TV that warmer weather might have played a role in the increased violence.
He says that when more people are “out and about … you sometimes do see an increase in crime.”
