GILLETTE, Wyo. (AP) - A Gillette man has been found guilty of sexually abusing his girlfriend’s daughter.
A jury deliberated about four hours Tuesday evening after a two-day trial before it returned a guilty verdict on five counts of first-degree sexual abuse of a minor. He could serve up to 50 years on each count.
The Gillette News Record (https://bit.ly/1kMZEsQ ) is not naming the man or the girlfriend because of the possibility that their names could identify the victim.
The girlfriend is already serving a 40- to 50-year prison sentence after pleading guilty to conspiracy to commit first-degree sexual abuse of a minor.
The man was accused of sexually abusing his girlfriend’s then 13-year-old daughter in 2012. Evidence showed that the man fathered a child with the girl.
A pre-sentence investigation was ordered.
