FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. (AP) - An 18-year-old Flagstaff man has pleaded not guilty in the strangulation death of his mother.
The Arizona Daily Sun (https://bit.ly/1cxNp0f ) reports that Zachariah Pine entered the plea during an arraignment Monday in Coconino County Superior Court.
Police said Pine called 911 on Feb. 20 to report that 52-year-old Becky Pickering wasn’t breathing.
She was found unconscious and lying on the kitchen floor with a pool of blood around her heard.
Responders were unable to revive her, and she died the next day at a hospital.
The Coconino County Medical Examiner’s Office said she died from strangulation.
