TUCSON, Ariz. (AP) - A man sought in an Arizona double killing in which the victims were run over by a car has been apprehended in Missouri.

Tucson police say 28-year-old Michael Leday (luh-DAY) awaits extradition proceedings to return him to Arizona after being arrested in Kansas City by the U.S. Marshals Service on Tuesday.

Leday was arrested on a warrant stemming from the deaths of 32-year-old Patrick Balbastro and 46-year-old Cindy Burnett.

Tucson police have said Balbastro was run over with his own car after he stopped to help Burnett as she fought with a man on a street early on the morning of Jan. 1.

Burnett also was run over, as was Balbastro’s 43-year-old girlfriend. The girlfriend was severely injured.
