SIGNAL HILL, Calif. (AP) - Authorities say four people were hurt when an ambulance flipped on its side after colliding with a car at an intersection in Signal Hill.
City News Service reports the ambulance driver was critically injured in the crash before dawn Monday. A patient in the ambulance was in critical condition before the collision.
There was no immediate information on the other two people taken to the hospital.
The accident happened on Spring St. just north of Interstate 405.
Streets around the crash site are shut down as police investigate but traffic on the freeway is not affected.
